We love how gentle the colour is on Jack’s shirt is the perfect side to interested the eye, without boring it with a seen before shade. The contrast on his tie, shirt and jacket, is subtle enough that it doesn’t detract away from the attention on his face. With his hair having had fingers freshly run through it, Dimitrije threw us this wicked confident squint. With all things going on in a photo, we as humans are nonetheless automatically drawn to the gaze first. It’s why above all else, you have to get the eyes right! Once he got the eye intensity figured out, we played around wit the various ways we could play with his hair positioning. Eventually we landed in a good place, but it wasn’t long before his hair moved again and we lost the sweet spot!
Here’s a lovely artist portrait taken on our dark, more characteristic charcoal backdrop. Our camera’s special ability is to deepen natural colour. You can tell from this shot how rich the blue in her denim jacket looks, without any alteration or pumping up of saturation in post.

Jack needed a quick photo for his company, so he booked our minimal package to get the ball rolling!
